Water Efficiency

The Texas A&M campus has embraced low flow and water conserving plumbing features, installed efficient irrigation systems and more efficiently managed the water use of the production facilities by closely managing the blowdown from cooling towers.

Energy Efficiency

Facilities & Energy Services produce electricity to serve a significant portion of the campus power needs and steam for heating and cooling of campus facilities. The Combined Heat and Power system efficiency is 70% or greater and significantly improves the overall operating efficiency, reliability and emissions profile of Texas A&M.

Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Through strategic conservation, operational efficiency, and service optimization, Facilities & Energy Services has achieved a 45% reduction in total energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, elevated campus recycling rates to 65%, and delivered $285 million in cumulative cost avoidance.
