Don Crawford is the Grounds Resident Regional Manager. Don is a degreed professional with 25+ years of diverse experience. His experience includes: Simultaneous management of multiple- Phoenix area large master planned community landscapes, Expert of Record for the native plant salvage/storage/restoration portion of a Federal /Arizona State highway project, directing the landscape construction of the first upland Sonoran Desert master planned community in Mesa, AZ. Additionally, Don served as regional landscape manager for Camden Property Trust (NYSE – CPT), one of the largest publicly traded multifamily companies in the United States, managing company landscape assets in four western states and assisted with the project management of $300 million in new multi-family construction. Upon relocation to Chicago, IL he served as Landscape Management Branch Manager for ValleyCrest Companies. Don undertook the challenge of a business startup and grew the business to 1 million in annual revenues in its first year.
In his current role, Don is tasked with Management of 5,200 acres of grounds and native areas at Texas A&M University. He is responsible for general grounds management, recreational sports turf, irrigation management, landscape construction, heavy equipment construction services, structural pest management, greenhouse production, arboricultural services, sanitation services, the campus composting program, and several aspects of campus and athletic event management. Don has served in several industry associations and outreach groups including: President of the Nevada Landscape Association, Professional Grounds Management Society, The Irrigation Association, PLANET Professional Landcare Network. Personally, he has provided many years of service to Future Farmers of America, and various other youth outreach programs. During his college years, Don played rugby and has completed an impressive ten marathons. He and his wife of 26 years are the parents of six children.
